Who we are
Cultural Heritage is a premium footwear brand in the process of registration. Our website is located at theculturalheritage.com. We are committed to protecting the personal data of all individuals who interact with our site, in full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and French law (loi Informatique et Libertés).
For any questions relating to this policy, please contact us at contact@theculturalheritage.com.
02
What we collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary for the purposes described below:
- Email address — when you voluntarily join our early access waitlist or newsletter via the form on our landing page.
- Navigation data — anonymised technical data such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected via analytics tools (see Cookies section).
- Purchase data — in the future, when our Shopify store is active, we may collect name, delivery address, billing information, and order history, in accordance with applicable payment and commerce regulations.
We do not collect sensitive data. We do not use automatic profiling or automated decision-making.
03
How we use your data
The data we collect is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Sending rare editorial communications about Cultural Heritage — product launches, brand updates, and early access invitations.
- Managing your subscription preferences and unsubscribe requests.
- Understanding how visitors interact with our site in aggregate, in order to improve the experience.
- Processing future orders and managing customer relationships via our Shopify store (when active).
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.
04
Legal basis for processing
Under GDPR Article 6, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Consent (Art. 6.1.a) — for email subscriptions. You provide your email address voluntarily and may withdraw consent at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any of our emails, or by contacting us directly.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f) — for anonymous analytics data used to improve our website, where this does not override your fundamental rights.
- Contract performance (Art. 6.1.b) — for processing future purchase orders, when our Shopify store is operational.
05
Data retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:
- Email subscribers — your data is retained for as long as your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, your data is deleted or anonymised within 30 days.
- Analytics data — anonymised aggregated data may be retained for up to 26 months for statistical purposes.
- Purchase data — when applicable, retained for the duration required by French commercial and accounting law (generally 10 years for invoicing records).
06
Third parties and data transfers
We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate our platform:
- Klaviyo — email marketing and subscriber management. Klaviyo is GDPR-compliant and processes data in accordance with a Data Processing Agreement. Data may be transferred to the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Shopify — future ecommerce platform. Shopify is GDPR-compliant and certified under applicable EU data transfer mechanisms.
- Analytics provider — anonymous, aggregated site analytics. We use privacy-first analytics tools that do not require cookies or personal identification where possible.
All third-party processors are bound by contractual obligations consistent with GDPR requirements. We do not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area without appropriate safeguards.
07
Cookies
Our website may use the following types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies — essential to the functioning of the site. No consent required.
- Analytics cookies — used to understand aggregate visitor behaviour. Where personal data is involved, your consent is requested before these cookies are set.
- Marketing cookies — not currently used. In the future, if we run paid advertising (e.g. Meta Ads), we will request your consent before setting any such cookies.
You may manage or withdraw cookie consent at any time via your browser settings. Disabling non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.
08
